From the Longcot road out of Uffington, the southern horizon traces the contours of the ancient Ridgeway. While the White Horse is best-known, the copses and hedges mark other locally-known features such as Knighton Coombes and Hardwell Camp. The springline villages of Woolstone, Knighton and Compton Beauchamp lie behind the trees.
